I am excited to announce that my friend and mentor Carl Adams and I have been selected as one of the four grant winners for the 2024 Run the Alps Trail Running Film Festival in partnership with ON Running; it is truly an honour.

My film Elevate, hosted by Hillary Geradi and Martina Valmassoi, starts at 47:00 minutes into the online Film Festival.

The theme for this year's festival is exploring boundaries, and I am excited to share our film, Elevate a Trail Running Film, with the audience. Filmed and produced by James Mitchell, The film tells my story and how I found myself toeing the line of the UTMB Mont-Blanc YCC trail race after falling into the right crowd. My journey is all part of the Alpine Run Project, established by reformed criminal and Nike-sponsored athlete John McAvoy.

Elevate aims to show that there are no limits to the heights you can reach, even when you’ve been dealt a tough hand. Adversity can become a superpower in endurance sports, and the hottest fires forge the strongest steel.

The eight countries' applications were highly regarded and had various stories, so the panel had difficulty narrowing it down to just four winners. We are honoured to have been selected as one of them, and we can't wait to share our story with the world.

Thank you to the Run the Alps Trail Running Film Festival and ON Running for this incredible opportunity.

The film's premiere is now available on my website.

Best, David
